How to Play Piñatas

At the start of a round, a trump suit is selected and players receive their cards. The starting player leads a card, and other players must follow the lead suit whenever they can.

The highest card of the lead suit normally wins the trick. However, if players use cards from the trump suit, the highest trump card wins instead.

The real twist comes from the scoring. Your goal is to win the required number of tricks and go out, but you want to time this carefully. Players who successfully go out can score based on tricks won by other players before they left the round.

Stay in the round too long and become the last player remaining, though, and your scoring opportunity changes. The result is a constant battle between taking tricks, avoiding tricks and choosing exactly when to exit.
